- The entry to Russia of all foreign citizens and stateless persons is suspended from 18 March until further notice.
The ban will not be applicable to employees of diplomatic missions in Russia, drivers of motor vehicles serving international routes, aircraft, ship and railway crews; members of official delegations, holders of diplomatic or service visas as well as holders of regular working qualified specialists visas (multiple working visas): private visas of the family members of the Russian citizens or those arriving in Russia due to the death of a close relative, and transit air passengers.
Foreign citizens who are the family members of the Russian citizens and who are eligible to enter Russia without visa (according to the bilateral agreements) will have to provide the original documents confirming the relationship on the border.
Applications for all visa types and categories except for the abovementioned cases are also suspended from 18, March until further notice.
- The issuance of electronic visas is suspended.
The Russian visa application centre is currently closed until further notice.
According to the latest arrangements, foreign citizens going to Russia must provide negative test results for COVID-19, with testing made not earlier than 3 days before entering Russia. Travellers shall have the relevant certificate upon boarding the flight.
To facilitate the border crossing process travellers from Hong Kong are required to provide the test results issued by Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital (https://covid.hksh.com/).
